The highly anticipated Vivo S18 series, scheduled for release in China on December 14, is poised to make a statement with its trio of models: Vivo S18, Vivo S18 Pro, and Vivo S18e. This series succeeds the previously launched Vivo S17 lineup from May this year. Ahead of the launch, the company has provided glimpses of the design, color options, and key specifications of these upcoming handsets. Recent leaks have added to the excitement, showcasing the Vivo S18 series in alluring black and grey shades adorned with flower-like patterns on the back panels.
A report from Gizmochina has shared these leaked images, highlighting the phones’ distinctive design elements. While the official microsite had earlier teased color options such as black, green, and purple for the base Vivo S18, and green and purple for the Vivo S18 Pro, the leaked images showcase a darker variant with solid black color and no patterns. The intriguing addition of flower-like patterns on the back panels adds a touch of elegance to the series.
The leaked images, likely featuring the Vivo S18 Pro, reveal an illuminated Aura-LED flash unit below the camera module, enhancing the overall aesthetic. Although the images were initially posted on the official Vivo Weibo profile, they were not found on the microblogging site at the time of writing, yet have circulated online.
Vivo had previously disclosed essential specifications of the upcoming models. The base Vivo S18 is set to feature a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and a robust 5,000mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Pro variant will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC. The Vivo S18e, part of the series, boasts a 4,800mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support. All three models will offer curved OLED displays with a refreshing rate reaching up to 120Hz.
Vivo China President Jia Jingdong confirmed noteworthy camera specifications for the Vivo S18 Pro, including a Sony 50-megapixel VCS bionic IMX920 primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 portrait shooter. The front camera setup impressively features a 50-megapixel sensor accompanied by dual flash units, promising exceptional photography capabilities.
As the launch date approaches, the Vivo S18 series continues to build anticipation, blending style, innovation, and powerful features in a captivating package for smartphone enthusiasts.
